Pressure Redistribution

The image below is a pressure mapping graph showing areas of high to low pressure (red to white) when seated.

The regular surface causes two areas of high pressure caused by the sit bones pressing into the seat surface. This applies pressure to the sciatic nerve resulting in leg numbness while seated.

When seated on a Shear Calm, the sit bone pressure is redistributed across the buttock. This distributed pressure relieves pressure on the sciatic nerve, allowing prolonged comfort.
